This new free pattern is the sister pattern to the one I released last week: Mathilde. And just like that pattern, this one was designed in honor of Genevieve Jurgensen's two young girls who passed away in 1980. I highly recommend taking a look at her memoir, The Disappearance: A Primer of Loss. It is an unexpectedly good read about sorrow and life.

Pattern Notes

  • Join all rounds with a SLST to the first stitch of the round, unless otherwise indicated.
  • If a round begins with a "CSDC" you may choose to work a CH 2 instead.
  • "CSDC" counts as the first DC of the round and thus counts toward the stitch count of a regular DC.
  • I recommend crocheting over your starting thread as you work the beginning rounds.

Round 2 = CSDC, DC in same stitch, *2 DC in next stitch* around. Join. Mark 3rd stitch of this round. [32 DC]

Round 3 = CH 1, SC in same stitch, CH 5, sk 3 stitches, *SC in next stitch, CH 5, sk 3 stitches* around. Join. [8 SC, 8 spaces]

Round 4 = (SLST, CH 1, 2 SC) in first space, FPTC around marked DC of round 2, 2 SC in same space, *2 SC in next space, sk 3 DC in round 2, FPTC around next DC, 2 SC in same space* around. Join. [32 SC, 8 FPTC]
