"Viennese" by Patricia Kristoffersen

As you can probably tell by now, I've been on a Patricia Kristoffersen kick. I've always wanted to make her doilies, but was put off by the amount of work they require.  However, I took the plunge and now I finished my fifth of her patterns.

This one is called "Viennese."

This one was only 27 rounds and works up very easily.  There are no tricky stitches in this pattern, and for the most part, it lies flat.  The very center circle is the only portion that really bumps up, but I absolutely love how it looks.

I used a bigger hook than I normally do for size 10 thread, a 1.75mm, as per the recommendation of a fellow crocheter when she heard my criticism of how tight Kristoffersen's doilies tend to be (and I do crochet very tightly).  It was a good recommendation; it was perfect.

This pattern is from the book "Coffee 'n' Cream" by Leisure Arts and is not available at this time to purchase online, but it might eventually be on the Leisure Arts website.
